As air and water submit to the same laws of movement, I wish this creation to be the living expression of these laws, a trance which embraces dancers and spectators.

We are born from a breath, our very first movement, the most intimate, the most internal.
Here I begin, and from here I progress. I become vibration, a vibration that expands and becomes pulsation, breathing, reptation, emotion, aspiration, sigh and silence. This cycle runs through me and builds me up, at every repetition of it I grow. Each of its repetitions is a step to achieve the next one. We exist and transform into the spiral of that cycle, beside each other, between each other. Times and instants are different but the path is the same.

All the value of this choreographical work rests on our breath. I am looking in this creative process
to create a choreography that navigates from instant to instant with no discontinuity into its dynamic growth. I wish to awaken the expressivity of our bodies lifted by deep and essential flux and impermanent tonalities.

The dancers evolve through a cycle which travels from now to birth to re-birth, from elevation to collapse, from condensation to expansion, from primitive to human, skin to clothes, reptilian to bipedal, unknown, recognisable, nameable, dis-recognisable ...
From embryonic breath to the sigh of despair we will touch you till your most intime vibrations.

________________________________________

FENESTRA OVALIS is a dance performance by Louise Chardon freely inspired by the sculptures of Berlinde de Bruyckere.

The Fenestra Ovalis is a membrane; the key door between your middle and inner ear. It is an extremely sensitive and vulnerable point in your body. This is what the two chalk white figures on stage represent; opened to let through or locking you in. Once their gaze enters your soul it can't return.

This duet is intimate and minimal. These two figures are the empty chamber of one's heart. You are invited to gather into this chamber and float from ice to fire, over a warm mandala, under a gold cover, eyes touched by nervous iced skin. The line of sound will set itself like a moving horizon, able to open up other spaces in the physical performance.

To stress the sacral atmosphere of the scene, the spectators can choose to receive a special treatment on their face with 24 carat gold. It is a beautiful and extremely pleasant way to view the performance. The contrast between these cold bodies and the warm, intimate setting creates a magical experience.

FENESTRA OVALIS

Een duet van Louise Chardon & Laure Myers
Dramaturgie : Luk Van den Dries
Geluid : Fabrizio Rota
Licht : Bern Van Deun
Productie : AndWhatBeside(s)Death

Op woensdag 23, donderdag 24 en zaterdag 26 november 2011
Om 20u & 30, 31 maart 2012 om 20u
CarWash Theater, Sergeysselsstraat 42, 2140 Borgerhout
Voor info en reservaties info.awbd@gmail.com of 0478 184 636
Tickets 12euro / 32euro inclusief Golden Mask.

POETICAL STRUCTURES OF THE BODY // BONES

6 encounters around a chosen thematic.
Bones (anatomical studies and movement investigations).
In this serie, we will investigate the constitution of our bones, articulations and
skeletical system in general. Louise Chardon

THEMATIC // BONES
Each semester we propose a series of encounters around a body system. We decide to repeat bones this semester because the first edition was partly cancelled. The sessions will be composed of anatomical studies and movement investigations. This proposal is leaded by Louise Chardon and is adressed to all movers and bodywork lovers.
This semester the sessions will take place on Saturday afternoons from 14:00 to 18:00.
Dates : 28/01, 25/02, 24/03, 21/04,19/05, 23/06.
140€/6 sessions - 75€/3 sessions

CONTACT IMPROVISATION
Contact@carwash biedt de gelegenheid om op regelmatige basis vaardigheden te ontwikkelen op gebied van contactimprovisatie. We will discover all different qualities, personalities that we carry inside us and how to integrate them better by deepening our consciousness of our organs and their influences.

Hilde Broeckhove will, from her Taoïste experiences and knowledge, bring us to more consciousness of our organs and their related meridians - the streams of their vitality - this into the phylosophy of the 5 elements. We will encounter the specific energy of each of the 5 elements and their related couple of meridians/organs by Meridian Chi Kung® exercises and free movement. We will also discover the materia and shapes of our organs by the practice of organ massages. To enter in contact with our organs, our inner familly, brings us in contact with the emotions within us.

Meridiaan Chi Kung is a sery of exercises elaborated by Dirk Oellibrandt, fondator of the 4D Life School. These exercices open the body through the meridian system and re-stimulate the sensation of flow in each meridian. This brings us to an increased state of peacefulness, vitality and joy. Your body will feel released from its blocages and toxines, strengthened in its center, more flexible and with a clearer sens of structure.

Louise Chardon, from her experiences in Body-Mind Centering®, will propose an anatomical and physiological study of the different organs systems and will guide us to experience our organic systems in movement, touching, visualization and/or somatisation. We will learn how to initiate breath and voice from our organs, how to analyze an disharmony in/between them and how to facilitate a re-balancing.

Body-Mind Centering integrates movement re-education and hands-on repatterning. The work is based on the rich and varied sources of anatomy, physiology, kinesiology and developmental principles. At the core of our courses are detailed approaches to access and explore each body-system and their integration in the patterning of our movement. We do this in a range of dynamic and physically active ways, and learn through our personal processes. Our experiences are the ground from which we work with others. This revolutionary approach is founded in the fullness of our very own sensory experience. The journey we take leads to greater awareness and deeper understanding of ourselves as human beings. It helps to understand how the mind is expressed through the body, and the body through the mind.

This workshop is meant for people who already have a certain experience in bodywork and movement.

Price: 450€ (to be payed before July 15th), 500€ after that date, inclusive courses and accomodation. 190€ for the meals (breakfast, lunch & diner from August 13th (diner) to June 21st (breakfast). No more story-telling.
No demonstration.
Only the spectator’s story.
Performing his intimacy’s play.
The stage as a husk of what is supposed to be private.
Revealing what hides behind the tongue.
Descending inwards.
Puncturing the skin. Just you.
Be welcome.
Be bare.
So we can start all over again.

SENSORAMA – A journey through the self-image is an interactive performance in which the visitors can explore in very different ways their self image. The performance aims at inviting the participants to dig deep into the liminal zones of this self image. In fact, we see SENSORAMA as a playground in which – even for a short moment – you can break open the frontiers of your self image so that more possibilities can enter the intimate knowledge of yourself and more zones are accessible for experimentation. The performance also aims to offer a way for visitors to get into touch with the many contrasting layers of the self image as a playground for change and transformation. The exploration takes place in different phases. The participants are invited to look at themselves under different “angles”/ “rooms”.

SENSORAMA can also exist in adapted format for different specific context as young audience, seminaries, events, etc. We regularly present the 4th installation of the project (The bubble) in the frame of Management seminaries leaded by Dirk Oelllibrandt.

UNDERTONE

The performance Undertone is a choreography that focuses on the potentials of sensory perception of the audience. Stemming from the interest to challenge spectatorship and destabilize the convention of watching performance, Undertone invites the audience in a complete dark space to participate in an orchestration of fictional spaces. Hereby, the performance prioritizes mechanisms of perception other than vision by proposing an immersive experience of different kinds of stimuli.

In Undertone, the body of the audience members is considered in all its potentiality to sense and navigate within an environment composed of a large spectrum of sensory movements such as tastes, sounds, smells, temperature fluctuations, touches, and ephemeral scenographies.

Concept and choreography Sidney Leoni (fr/se)

With Sidney Leoni, Andros Zins-Browne, Luís Miguel Félix, Manon Santkin, Christina Vantzou, Louise Chardon, Kayoko Minami, Aurélien Patouillard, Jessica Hagmeijer, Monica Le Bruyn, Kimberley Olsthoorn, Margareth Kaserer, Leen De Graeve, De Boer Marianne, Louise Baduel, Zoranne Serrano and Koen Van de Wiele.

A co-production of AndWhatBeside(s)Death and Sidney Leoni

2 Performances on Saturday 12 march at 7pm and 9pm.
@ CarWash Theater, Sergeysselsstraat 42, 2140 Borgerhout

Reservations: info.awbd@gmail.com or 0495 41 32 62
The performance can allow only 30 spectators per evening. It's a sound/smell/body-scape that invites you to travel into your own imagination. The most impressive aspect of this performative adventure is the sensitive quality of it. Ring, Love Zoo & Secret Service - Felix Ruckert), Sensorama, Ilessness, Lab Project - co Luk Van den Dries / AndWhatBeside(s)Death vzw). In this Workshop I am interested to share with you the basic principals of what I call Intimate & Sensitive Theater. We will study qualities of presence, of touch and learn how to compose an encounter. To start each day, I will propose a body-mind conditionning/training and then some experiences according to each thematic of this workshop (presence, touch, encounter). Next scheduled workshop in spring 2011 in Paris at Canal Danse. More info will follow.

MORE THAN LEARNING TO ACT, DISCOVERING TO SENS
MORE THAN EXPRESSING, UNDERSTANDING TO COMMUNICATE
MORE THAN THINKING TO BE, FEELING TO BE

LAB-PROJECT

Research on Intimate & Sensitive Theater
Initiated and leaded by louise Chardon, with the collaboration of Hilde Broeckhove, Leen De Graeve, Marieke Breyne, Lu Marivoet, Caroline Mathieu, Raquel Odena and Hanne Carrein.

THE LAB PROJECT was an experimental research on Intimate and Sensitive Theatre which started in October 2009 and ended in February 2010.

It was meant to give a frame to the prolongation of my previous work on Interactive Theatre (Sensorama ; Ilessness). The main quest explored during the Lab was how to enter and nourish someone’s imaginary field by touch, movement, words, sounds, smells. With a group of dancers/actors/performers/students I tried to dig deeper and work into more detailed aspects of sensitivity and perception so that we could reach beyond the first layers of understanding and find more subtleties and new dimensions of communication.

We learned how to unfold our intuitive path to understand them and to be able in a certain proportion to revisite them. We also draw our inspiration and creativity from the imaginary of elements (water, fire, air, earth, space, etc). I looked for some input from artistic streams such as Surrealism and philosophical literature Merlau-Ponty “Phénoménologie de la perception”, and the studies of Gaston Bachelard on the poetics of elements.

Some sessions were opened to an audience who was offered the choice between being involved as participant (active spectator) or simply watch (obsevor). During these open sessions, as performers, we worked like we usually did without audience. We developed a line of search from a predeterminated theme (bvd. the non border between audience and performing space and the fluctuability of distance between performers and audience members / imaginary of water).

I-LESS-NESS

"There is only one world.
